With sadness and gratitude we share that Paul Kelley, longtime social worker on South Three at Laguna Honda Hospital died peacefully on August 7th at his home in Berkeley, CA. Paul was a truly special human being. He was a fierce advocate for the residents living at LHH where our volunteers have served for over 35 years. During his time at LHH, he mentored many of our volunteers and staff. To many of our volunteers he was more than a colleague, he became a friend. Paul regularly presented in our new volunteer training. In those sessions, he regaled the trainees with stories of residents and his unique way of supporting them. With his magnificent beard, big smile and welcoming demeanor he was a fixture on both South Three and the former C2 hospice ward.
Zen Caregiving Project offers its condolences to Paul's family and friends. May Paul be free from suffering and all causes of suffering. May Paul know his true nature.
Thank you, Paul!
